Some people see me write, blog or comment about "Project: 365". And most of the time I have a picture associated with it.
I've often been asked "what is Project: 365"?
It was a project I was introduced to in 2009. I was reading on a website where this man started taking pictures for every day of his life. Basically, you take one pictures per day to remember the day or year by. Simple photographs--family, items, food, himself, places. Anything you want to take a picture of.
Some have said in a tragedy that their lives flash before them and/or that they tend to forget what has happened in their lives. With Project: 365 you can take a picture for each day of the year and have something to remember an aspect of your day by.
Perhaps it was a new food item you tried, a restaurant you went to, gas prices changing from month to month, how you as a person has changed in appearance during the year ... maybe it has to do with a child or a relative. It gives us a way of celebrating each day of our lives to make sure those moments won't slip past us.
I post pictures routinely on Twitter, tumblr, Flickr, Snapfish and Facebook. Some sites have more pictures than others, it depends on the privacy settings and what I want to share.
Sometimes I only have time to upload once per week, so I try to upload on Sundays after I take the picture for that day. My goal has been to take the photos at the end of the year and put them into a "photo book" through Snapfish, with the captions, so I can look back on them year after year. I currently have the 2009 photo book published and will publish the 2010 photo book later this year.
It has been a great project, and has been therapeutic as well. It also helps develop skills as a photographer, and familiarizes me with the camera and its settings.
I enjoy sharing my pictures with family and friends and giving those around me a sneak peak into my life. Some days are boring, others are filled with stress or drama.
This gives me an outlet for all of it, and I develop some skills that might help in the future.
If you have any more questions, please ask, I'll be happy to answer them :)
