🗞️Surgery Update 3/6/2024 🗞️

Medical Update

Since I decided to break up the updates ... this is the surgery one 🩺

On 2/26, I had a gallbladder attack, mainly due to the stress of this situation (which I knew was bound to happen). The doctor there referred me to a surgeon. The surgeons office called SAME day! But, I was resting, and it was after hours when I saw the voicemail message. (My iPhone transcribes, albeit questionably, my voicemail messages).

I called on 2/27, they wanted to get me in by the end of that week (2/28-3/1) which wasn’t feasible due to the home issues as well as my mom’s medical stuff, so I got 3/6 (today).

Now, before my appointment ... I had to rush mom to the ER on the early morning of 3/3, then I had to go BACK to an URGENT CARE for ... an ear infection. More antibiotics. (I swear this is getting SO old).

Today ... my surgery appointment ...

Well, that was the FASTEST consultation EVER ... and not in a good or bad way. More of an expeditious way. I was there before 2pm (appointment was 2:15), out 30 minutes later as I was in the car about 2:34pm.

Doctor was really nice, sweet, and definitely informative.  And, oddly, calming. She already saw my ultrasound and said it had to go. I was down to ZERO time left with it. Basically, explained the procedure right there in the room. And, then it was like “are you ready to proceed” 🫣 no ... but I have to. No other choice there, and she actually agreed I don’t have a choice.

Before I left ... I signed the consent forms (surgery, anesthesia, and medication), given appointment paperwork, pre-op paperwork, and post-op paper, and done. Total time there: 30-45 minutes.

So, surgery is definitely a sure thing. It is a matter of when.

I will keep you all posted.
